Registration is now open for the International Workshop “Genome editing in mammals using CRISPR tools”, that will be held at the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo, from October 14 to 17, 2019.
This workshop will be focused on the latest advances in genome editing in rodents and large animals, using the novel tool CRISPR/Cas and its variants and modifications. Participants will have the opportunity to spend four days on hands-on training with national and international speakers working in this cutting edge field.
Twenty selected students from the region and the world will be in close interaction with the speakers during the course and the social activities with the aim to exchange knowledge and relevant information, discuss ideas and projects.
The workshop will have a strong practical component, where the students will learn how to choose and design the genome editing strategy, apply and deliver the targeting tools into zygotes by microinjection or electroporation, validate CRISPR activity in vivo and identify CRISPR induced genomic modifications. In addition, they will have the chance to discuss their own projects with the teachers, in order to select the best approaches.
